Action plan of Limburgs Dagblad

Today, the Managing and the Supervisory Board of Uitgeversmaatschapppij Limburgs Dagblad B.V. have presented to the Works Council and trade organisations an action plan for the break-even operation of Limburgs Dagblad.

The plan contains a proposal for the improvement of turnover, costs savings and the loss of 50 full-time jobs. This redundancy will be effected as much as possible through early retirement, resignation and outplacement. Although not ruled out, involuntary dismissals will be avoided as much as possible. A social plan has been drafted and a provision against the 1999 result has been set up.

The action plan is separate from the proposed takeover of Dagblad De Limburger. This takeover holds out prospects of an actual long-term profitable future for Limburgs Dagblad.
