Telegraaf Media Groep N.V. (TMG) is extending its interest in the British trade fairs and events organization Expomedia Plc. – quoted on the stock exchange – with the acquisition of 1 million shares. This extension involves a sum of £ 1.4 million (about € 2.1 million). In doing so, TMG has achieved an interest of 20% in Expomedia. In the short term, no further extension is expected.
Through this investment, TMG wants to further grow within the media type of events and trade fairs and also improve the possibility of becoming active in new locations abroad.
Expomedia develops and exploits an international chain of exhibition, events and conference centres. In these centres, Expomedia organizes its own events, but also places the locations at the disposal of third parties. The locations are, among other places, in Amsterdam, Cologne, Moscow, Belgrade, Warsaw, Katowice, Budapest and New Delhi.
In the Netherlands, Expomedia and TMG jointly organize consumer fairs and events within the joint venture TE2.
