Telegraaf Media Groep appoints Chief Synergy Officer

Telegraaf Media Groep N.V. (TMG) has appointed Mr Rob Eijkelenkamp as Chief Synergy Officer with responsibility for maximising the synergy benefits achieved by the Dutch publishing houses within the group. This is an interim position, reporting directly to the Executive Board of TMG.

Rob Eijkelenkamp has worked at TMG for six years, the past four of them as Managing Director of BasisMedia, the publisher of national daily newspaper Sp!ts. The procedure to find his successor there will be completed next week.

As Ad Swartjes, CEO of TMG, explains: "Changing market circumstances are creating opportunities for us to increase our share of media consumption by introducing new and different product-market combinations. That and TMG's expanding product portfolio emphatically demand additional efforts to maximise the impact of our internal synergy. By which I mean not just that between our different print media and between them and online media, but also the effects upon both the cost and revenue sides. Naturally, the ultimate aim is to improve our financial performance. Through this new position, we expect to achieve that objective to the full."
