Telegraaf Media Groep N.V. (TMG) has acquired a 10% share in the English trade fairs and events organizer Expomedia Group Plc. For this purpose, the stock exchange-quoted Expomedia Group will issue more than 4.5 million shares at a price of £ 1.45 apiece.
Expomedia has the objective to internationally establish and exploit a chain of state-of-the-art exposition, events and conference centres. These centres are being used by Expomedia to realize both its own events as well as those of third parties. They are located, among other places, in Cologne, Moscow, Belgrade, Warsaw, Katowice, Budapest and New Delhi.
Expomedia already cooperates in the Netherlands with TMG in the area of organizing events through the joint venture TE2. In the recent past, this joint venture organized fairs like ‘Bienvenue en France’ and ‘Eten & Genieten’. By now, Expomedia has opened a new multi-functional events location along the Zuid-as (southern axis) of Amsterdam.
