TMG presents next steps of 24/7 strategy to advertisers

Today, Telegraaf Media Groep (TMG) showed advertisers the latest developments within TMG’s varied and cross-media brand portfolio, as well as new opportunities for advertisers to effectively reach their target groups. Last year, the ‘24/7 event’ for advertisers was organised for the first time. Today, Theater Amsterdam was the venue of ‘24/7 Part Two’, where TMG shared trends, developments and results with hundreds of advertisers. For example, in the year ahead, Dutch consumers are expected to be even more demanding when it comes to consuming content delivered by the TMG brands just the way they want: always, everywhere and through all available channels, in a way that is relevant to them personally.

Digital video platform Telegraaf VNDG 2017

For some time, De Telegraaf and Dumpert have been offering an increasing amount of online video content. This has already resulted in some 190 million video views per month on desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. In the spring of 2017, the new online video platform Telegraaf VNDG will kick off. This platform will give consumers access to largely personalised news via any device – on demand, anywhere and anytime. The technical platform will be delivered by Talpa, with whom TMG has entered into a partnership. In a highly user-friendly environment (app and website), Telegraaf VNDG will offer a bundled mix of videos containing news, sport, entertainment, car updates, remarkable events and lifestyle topics. The videos will feature topical events, sharp analyses and backgrounds to the news. The platform also has its own programmes, including:

  • News show as of 6am
  • For Sale: Take a look inside the homes of Dutch celebrities who are selling their house
  • All goals scored in the Dutch football leagues (Eredivisie and Tweede Divisie)
  • The Golden Tip: A thrilling crime programme presented by John van den Heuvel
  • On the bench: Interesting interviews with heavyweights in the world of football
  • 24/7 Wheels: All about cars
  • “Kijkje in het leven van…”: A peep inside the life of a Dutch celebrity

On demand and personalised

Telegraaf VNDG will offer users content that is geared to their personal viewing behaviour. If they wish, they will also receive a video summary every day, at a specific time of their choice, summarising the day’s events in their areas of interest. Through ‘My Telegraaf VNDG’, users will receive an overview of all video content they are following, from programmes and categories to specific journalists. In addition, they will be able to download videos so they can watch them later. AlthoughTelegraaf VNDG is free for everyone, De Telegraaf subscribers will also get access to a premium section. Finally, subscribers will be able to choose between various modules to arrive at a package that best suits their personal viewing preferences.

DatalabAs of today, advertisers can access TMG’s new Datalab unit, which enables advertisers to reach out to specific target groups. TMG’s database will also be used to improve customer experiences in the case of newly launched websites and apps, and to ensure that the online news offering matches consumers’ interests and preferences. Name and address details of consumers will not be provided to advertisers.
