TROS and De Telegraaf settle disputes
De Vereniging TROS (TROS) and N.V. Holdingmaatschappij De Telegraaf (De Telegraaf) have decided to settle their disputes and cease litigation.
The disputes were occasioned by TROS withdrawing the running of its listings magazines TROSKompas and TV-krant from De Telegraaf as of 1 January 1997. De Telegraaf took the view that agreement had already been reached on a renewed partnership for the running of the magazines. TROS considered that De Telegraaf had been overcharging it for many years.
As time went by, the parties increasingly came to the conclusion that the legal battle was costing them a lot of time and energy. Following a number of searching discussions they decided to end their law suits. They are now looking to the future again and talking about possible collaboration, e.g. in the area of the Internet.
